I'm scared. All the time. Right now there could be a new edition of the WiiLink News right behind you and you would never know. Luckily, I'm sure of the fact that a new WiiLink News article is not available right n- AH

    I just ate

After possibly more than a year of ominous posts with the quote somewhat similar or identical to "I just wanna eat", Food Channel: Just Eat Edition is finally available! It is currently testing in six countries (United Kingdom, Ireland, Spain, Germany, Austria, Italy) and is planned to roll out into other countries where Just Eat is available.

Just Eat Edition works slightly differently to Domino's Edition, in that they don't allow you to pay at the door. This means you must enter your payment information directly. While in an ideal situation this could all be registered onto the Wii, allowing you to order food in one clean sweep, we do not think it would be responsible for us to obtain your payment information to send to a third party. Instead, we've made a portal on the WiiLink Accounts page that will let you finalize an order you registered on the Wii. Enter your payment information once, and it's ready to go; the fun part of the ordering process is still saved from your Wii to your device. We don't keep any of the payment information, instead going straight to Just Eat.

Since launching the service, we already had 100 WiiLink Accounts linked to Just Eat within 12 hours! Thank you all for being so quick to use our service.

    A lost tape

A while back, we added videos by the creator f4mi, who specializes in old technology and video games. We currently have 4 videos related to the Wii, but we think that Wii Room should house more than just videos about the Wii. So we contact f4mi and we've gotten the permission to platform 10 videos onto Wii Room... in January 2025. Yeah uh. Not sure what happened with that. After approximately 15 months of procrastination, video encoding issues and the construction of an entire new web panel, we're finally putting these videos on Wii Room today. You can find 5 videos right now, and in a week we'll add 5 more videos. These videos are intentionally made to look like they're from the CRT era, so they're a perfect fit to watch on Wii Room. Feel free to check it out!

    Music to your ears

In 2024, we released Aero Serenity: the first volume of the WiiLink Soundtrack. The soundtrack is a music library used internally for any kind of video or program project which might need music. The album includes 10 tracks composed by Kolton Ramos (GamerKGR) played live on a keyboard. We announced very early on that a second volume was in the works, but we haven't been able to give any updates since. After 16 months, we're ready to share it with you.

    virtualmemories

Vibrant Memories: WiiLink Original Soundtrack Volume 2 is coming to YouTube on May 6th, 2026. It's taken a bit longer to produce than the first soundtrack (which took about a year to make), but we've used that time well. This isn't just more of the same: this new soundtrack has 4 different composers! In addition to Kolton returning from the previous album, we've also gotten ZAZiOs, Nuclear and Rem3dy. ZAZiOs is a member of our dev team, and Nuclear and Rem3dy are external composers we've brought on for the soundtrack! With this more varied lineup of composers, we've also transitioned away from the live compositions of the first volume, and fully transitioned into a more standard music production method. We think it really paid off, and we can't wait for you to listen to it.

And in case you missed it, both soundtracks are also coming to major streaming platforms and to CD soon. We'll be planning out a streaming release after the release of the YouTube version, and we're currently managing the logistics of a CD release. (Note: A CD release is currently only planned for the United States. Plans may change in the future.)

    Creature observation

Did you know that Wii Room had nature documentaries? Specifically, 動物たち (or the rather basic name "Animals") was a series of documentaries about animals in the wildlife. We know that at least 14 episodes of these existed, with most episodes covering a single animal such as giraffes, hippos, hyenas and elephants. There's currently no surviving episodes of these, so any new information on this show would be a breakthrough.

Help us track these shows down! You can find the Lost Media Wiki thread here.

    Maintenance of mystery

Earlier this month we pulled all of the WiiLink Accounts services offline to do some maintenance. Usually, we don't explain what our maintenances are about, since not many people might not care about them. However, since we're already writing the newsletter for our more dedicated audience, we thought it would be a good idea to share what this was about with you.

This maintenance was primarily about making WiiLink Accounts considerably more future proof than it was before. As if was before, your Wii friend code, console ID and Domino's linking status were all separate datapoints and were in a list of their own. So for example if you had two Wiis linked to your account, there would be two entries each in your list of friend codes, console IDs and Domino's statuses. On the surface, this doesn't sound that bad. However, the more you look at it the more issues it presented for the future. Because this would save each datapoint separately, accounts wouldn't actually know which friend code was linked to which console. While this isn't currently an issue, it makes it a lot harder for us to do stuff with the data in the future. With the new format, all the data is stored in its own smaller list for each Wii, so the data is actually associated with each other.

Now, what are we actually going to use this new formatting for? Good question! You'll have to wait a little longer for the answer to that.

And that's it for this month! We just had a major channel release with Just Eat, but don't think that's slowing us down. Like we said earlier, Vibrant Memories comes out on May 6th. Additionally, we also have multiple projects in the works that we can't quite talk about yet, but are optimistic on its development. In the meantime, what are you ordering with Food Channel: Just Eat Edition? We'd love to hear what you ordered! (If you're in England, you can order used games, DVDs and even an entire PlayStation 5 through CeX!) We're always checking our Bluesky account, the Discord and the WiiLink Forums! Take care.
