Happy pride month, and happy Nintendo Switch 2 launch! I’m sure many of you have been too busy playing Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour, the greatest game ever made, to check up on your Wii. But we still have a lot of news to share with you regarding WiiLink! You might not use all the features, but regardless, we want to take this time to update you on all the news you might’ve missed recently. Let’s take a look!
WiiLink Originals returns!
After 6 months, we finally have a new WiiLink Original to share with you all! Nintendo Daily Life is a show created by Austin, who we found through the content pitch form! His show explores various Nintendo products from the DS and Wii era, and sees if they’re still viable in the modern day. We have a trailer.
Episodes are short at around 5 minutes, so watch them casually when they come out, or as a double bill with the month’s Homebrew Tea! The first episode releases tomorrow, and new episodes come out every month.
In case you don’t know about WiiLink Originals, they’re series hosted by WiiLink, creating original content and trying to emulate the feel of early YouTube. Not every show is for everyone, but if they can make you feel how you felt during that era of the Internet, we consider that a success.
Forming Links… TWO
As promised last month, here is our full interview with Wii Room developer Noah Pistilli and content manager Kolton Ramos. This one’s quite a bit longer than our first, and we’re really proud of how it turned out!

A patch for the patcher to patch your system
We released a brand new patcher in the WiiLink GUI Patcher! This is a separate program from our normal patcher, and lets you update your WiiLink channels using a visual interface instead of the standard terminal. From now on, the download button on the homepage will default to your system’s version of the GUI patcher, and the old patcher can be selected as an option from the dropdown menu. And don’t worry, the patcher is still available on Windows, Mac and Linux.
The vortex grows larger
This month, we’ve started processing entries for the content team applications and started onboarding members! We’re still in the middle of process so we can’t announce everyone yet, but we’ll announce the new slate of content team members once we’re confident it’s done. Thank you for your patience.
A global view
It’s a small change, but we redesigned some pages on the website this year that we never formally announced. Just recently, we changed the design of the log in page to look more visually appealing! As always, thanks to Alex, our web designer.

We also updated our extras page to feature actually new content again! Sometime in 2024 we made this an archive of content found on the RiiConnect24 website, but accidentally removed… literally everything else. Whoops.
Well it’s back now, and you can check logos, wallpapers and more! Of course, we don’t want to get rid of stuff, so it’s now accessible from a button in the page, which leads you to the original RiiConnect24 extras page! All in all it’s not too much, but feel free to explore the website.
Only for the bourgeoisie
If you’re donating to WiiLink through Stripe, billing management became a lot easier! You can now check your membership plan through your WiiLink Account, and can freely view it, change it or even cancel it at any time. Power to the customer!
This only applies to Stripe memberships, and doesn’t account for YouTube members or Patreon subscribers. The Patreon is now considered defunct, and if you’re already subscribed there, we recommend moving to Stripe.
Maintaining updates
This month we had a bit of a freak accident regarding WiiLink servers, which lasted in services being unavailable for nearly a full day. While we will always publish general new information on this website, some time sensitive information will not be published as articles since there is a chance they will already be outdated by time of publishing, and will clash with the full formed style of other articles. So we wanted to take this time to reintroduce you to the best ways to be informed on WiiLink information! Here’s how it works:
Discord is currently the best way to be informed as soon as possible. We have separate channels for service, server and content updates. Announcements are made by team members themselves, so they will be available as soon as actions have been made.
Bluesky is still a viable way to be informed about WiiLink. Depending on the time of day, New information is available as soon as they are made, or several hours after the fact. We also sometimes post more “casual” posts on there.
The website, while can be slower to receive news will always feature major news and announcements at the end of each month. If you are not concerned with knowing new information as soon as possible, this may be the ideal method as it is the most efficient. The website also hosts new editions of Forming Links whenever available.
Twitter is available too, though not recommended. Since January 16, 2025, our Twitter has been a repost page for Bluesky posts. Maintenance updates are not available, and the page in general may miss certain posts. If you wish to be updated on WiiLink (and homebrew in general) information consistently through social media we recommend migrating to Bluesky. (it’s really cool over there, I promise)
YouTube serves a different purpose from all other options, and provides more in-depth information on certain announcements. We recommend checking it out separately from all the other options, though the channel will often be referenced in announcements.
That’s all for June! Hope you had a happy pride month and a happy Switch 2 launch. Personally, I haven’t been able to obtain a system yet, but I’m still having a great time with Deltarune (and Balatro). Just remember, regardless of whether you got a console or not, you can always join us back at WiiLink. As you know, YOU are welcome here any time.
