So what happened this month?

Forming Chains

We’ve released 4 issues of Forming Links this month. These were all part of our anniversary celebrations, and are freely available to view.

But that was this month. Let’s talk about this year. What have we accomplished this year?

WiiLink Accounts

We launched our own accounts system, called WiiLink Accounts. WiiLink Accounts allowed us to remove the need for Discord authentication when using Food Channel, and allows us to use it for other useful functionality in the future.

WiiLink Patcher

Since its creation, the WiiLink Patcher had always used a standard command line patcher. However, this year we upgraded it to a GUI patcher, allowing you to use the patcher with a proper UI.

We also added four channels to the WiiLink Patcher: the Today and Tomorrow Channel, Wii Speak Channel, Internet Channel and Photo Channel 1.1. These channels were originally only available on the legacy patcher, but are now featured on the new and improved patcher.

WiiLink Forums

Alongside accounts, we created the WiiLink Forums: a brand new way to talk with other WiiLink users, independent of any social media.

Wii Room

We’ve collaborated with many groups throughout 2025. We created new rooms for NetPass and Satellaview+ as well as collaborations with Akfamilyhome and MattKC with new videos.

Wii Room Anywhere

We launched Wii Room Anywhere, the Nintendo DSi companion app to Wii Room. The app was fully translated into English, and supports all videos. While some videos longer than 10 minutes are only available as portions, we pushed Mobiclip to its absolute limits to make sure that all 6 episodes of Sound Chamber are available portably.

Food Channel: Domino’s Edition 1.0

Food Channel: Domino’s Edition, released back in 2022, got a major update to version 1.0. This update featured a completely new translation, visual fixes, future ordering, and order tracking. With WiiLink Accounts, we also removed the need for a Discord account, a feature highly requested by many users.

Kirby TV Channel

We’ve done another run of Kirby TV Channel from July to December. This run was the first run of Kirby TV to support multiple languages. We’re still planning more runs of the channel, so please stay tuned.

Mii Contest Channel

Mii Contests, which has had inconsistent updates for a while, has been receiving updates regularly this year. We’ve been using the channel to tie into new game releases and events.

Nintendo Channel

Nintendo Channel, a channel with very infrequent updates has finally begun getting consistent updates. New videos related to new games coming to Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2, as well as Nintendo Direct clips have been added. Recommendations were also expanded upon, with more data to look at.

Wii Announcements

We have released an update to our Mail Patcher that allows you to opt into receiving WiiLink Announcements right on your Wii. From now on, you can receive WiiLink News, Announcements, and special messages from your Message Board!

WiiLink WFC

The Delta Emulator, available on iOS, received an update this year to support online connectivity for DS games. This update includes WiiLink WFC, and supports various games. Setting up is very quick, so feel free to try it out.

WiiLink Originals

In 2024, we introduced WiiLink Originals, a new program meant to make Wii Room something worth revisiting again and again. In 2025, we continued this and expanded this further. We released;

5 Homebrew Tea episodes (and 2 Xtras) 2 Sound Chamber episodes 4 Pineapple News episodes, as well as the premiere finale No More Pineapple News A full season of Nintendo Daily Life

WiiLink News

That’s what you’re reading right now! We’ve been publishing new entries every month to communicate more often to our friends without Bluesky or Discord. There’s surprisingly a lot of you.

We also started our interview column Forming Links, to give you all some more inside information on how things are made inside the team. We’ve published 8 entries this year, and are planning on continuing the series into next year.

The domain wiilink24.com was retired and moved to wiilink.ca. Maybe people will stop calling us WiiLink24 one day.

And that was 2025! It’s been a rather long but eventful year and 2026 is shaping up to be another fun year for us. I think. I’m not sure. See, I haven’t actually been working in WiiLink for a few days now. While I’m primarily known for this, I also secretly have a real life that isn’t related to WiiLink. To focus on studying for university and my family, I’ve been on break since December 23rd, and will be continuing on said break until March. Don’t worry thoughー the WiiLink News won’t be going anywhere, as I’ll be passing the torch to Alex, the website designer. Until March. The torch is mine I’m just lending it to him.
