Happy April! So Nintendo announced their exciting Nintendo Switch 2 system, and everyone is happy, or angry, or sad, or ecstatic, or something. We can’t tell at this point. But it’s a very active time for the Nintendo community, and we’ve tried to keep up with this busy month. Let’s take a look!
Linking just became easier
The WiiLink Patcher was updated to version 2.1.0, featuring various improvements and additions. These additions include:
The patcher now supports .NET 9, which improves stability and reduce some false anti-virus warnings! That, or we were malware the whole time and they were correct. That would be news to us.
The patcher is now compatible with ARM64 systems!
The Wii Speak Channel is now patched for Wiimmfi out of the box, requiring no further configuration to use it as intended.
The installation flow for Extra Channels has been reworked, meaning less hassle for console users!
WADs and apps will now be directed into a WiiLink subfolder, reducing conflict with your existing WAD and app folders! Your folder full of disk rips is now safe.
But above all, the patcher now comes in different languages! You can now set the patcher to 5 different languages, including Italian, Dutch, Hungarian and Japanese.

We are currently developing the Wii Room shop! We are not only working hard to recreate the shop on the original Wii no Ma, but we are also working to create merchandise to buy on it! Please stay tuned for more updates on development on the Wii Room shop and WiiLink Store.

Ignore that thing on the bottom its fine
A complete brew
Homebrew Tea has finally returned! Enjoy an extra long episode featuring not only Nintendo news, but new WiiLink announcements and news for other consoles. A segment of the episode is available to view freely! Check both of those out on Wii Room and YouTube respectively.

An outdoor excursion
Episodes 6 and 7 of Pineapple News was released on Wii Room during April! We apologize for the delay in release, but also hope that the extra time was worth it. Stay tuned for next month featuring the series finale, showing what happened to the little show that could(n’t).

A very, very stupid idea
That’s right, the announcements made in the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct on April 2nd, are available to watch freely on Nintendo Channel in all its 240p glory. Enjoy the novelty of seeing the reveal of a 2025 9th generation console on a 2006 7th generation one. We heard people like that junk.

That’s it from us on April! After a few months of not being able to supply much content, we’re happy that we got to do as much things as we ended up doing. This month was admittedly stressful for us dealing with some stuff outside development, but that hasn’t stopped us from furthering development, and we have made some discoveries that might make 2025 a really big year for us. But in the meantime, stay tuned! See you next time!
